Eurie Martin

Eurie Martin (Sandersville, GA) was a 58-year-old man with psychiatric disabilities. On July 7, 2017, he was taking a long walk when someone called the police on him because they thought he was suspicious. Police officers arrived and tried to arrest him even though he had broken no laws. They tased him for a prolonged period until he died. The police officers, Henry L. Copeland, Michael Howell and Rhett Scottwere, were fired and charged with murder. They are challenging the charges on the basis that they were “standing their ground.”
