Gershwin Arendse was 19 years old with a psychiatric disability. He lived in Cape Town and was sleeping when a gang war occurred. A stray bullet hit Gershwin upon the head. His father saw Gershwin making jerking movements and assumed he was having a seizure. After opening the door for more light, Gershwin died of blood loss.
