(Des Moines, IA) Rose has been experiencing mental health crises for a while. She is bipolar with PTSD and borderline personality disorder. During her mental health episodes, police were the only resources available to them. If Rose was violent she would be taken to jail. If Rose was non-violent, police said they are unable to take Rose to a hospital unless she was violent. The family tried calling the King County designated crisis response team, but the team told her that it would take them two to three weeks before they could respond to any given situation.
