NYC Mental Health Continuum Initiative

(NYC, New York) NYC was allocated $5 million for their new initiative, “mental health continuum”. The program creates a partnership between the health department, public hospital system, and the city’s education department. The program focuses on training teachers in de-escalation and building communication networks between school staff and mental health professionals.

However, after one year of piloting the program in the Bronx and Brooklyn, the city is now proposing possibly cutting the program’s funding. More on this story here.
