Jeremy McDole was physically impaired and required a wheelchair. After being confronted by four police officers, he was told to “put his hands up”. Within 2 seconds of this order, he was shot by a police officer using a shotgun. Police claimed that McDole shot first which was confirmed by a ballistics’ team. However, an reexamination of the case found that the chief ballistic analyst was charged with falsifying records in previous cases. The Justice Department reported the police officer who shot McDole showed “extraordinarily poor police work”, but the review ended with no charges. More of this story here.
