(Colombo, Sri Lanka) A peaceful protest emerged in Colombo, Sri Lanka over un-honored pension payments for disabled veterans. Roughly 3,000 disabled soldiers and family members of deceased soldiers were urging the government to pay their respective pensions. The riot police was then called and unleased water cannons and tear gas on the disabled protesters. Several protesters were injured with 1 disabled soldier losing sight in his right eye permanently.
