Faqiri was 30 years old and suffering from Schizophrenia. He was arrested and held at a jail cell in Ontario in 2016 when he should have been at a psychiatric facility. A few days prior to his official relocation date to the psychiatric facility, he was found beaten, pepper sprayed, restrained, and killed by correctional officers.

No action has been taken against the correctional officers or prison.
